Observations : Argentina to Bolivia

  • Music on the radio involves a guy yelling over a repeated beat like "manitas, manitas, manitasssss al aire, manitas al aire.... Jujujujujujjuuuyyyy!!!"
  • There is almost no wildlife except Llamas.
  • Andes are huge.
  • Lots of rocks and dust.
  • Lots of offerings to Pachamana.
  • Lots of little red-saint homes along the highway.
  • Skin is dry, lips are dry, nose is dry, hands are dry.
  • Can't find churros or Alchafaz alfajor!
  • Kids singing to tourists for money.
  • Llamas are awesome looking and everywhere.
  • Weights such as tires or rocks on roofs to avoid them flying off during strong winds.
  • Ladies fashion in Bolivia: knee length socks, skirts, shirt and vest. Hair in two braids with something dangling from it with a hat.
  • Ladies carrying things in colorful cloths on their back.
  • Easiest/fastest snack: fried chicken and French fries.
  • Once into Bolivia the Andes seem to have changed a little too. The don't seem like smooth mountains, but rather like cliffs with rough drops.
  • Tupiza is a pleasant town.
